Nursery Manager

Hours Per Week

14 Hours

2001-2002 Academic Year.

Compensation

Students will be paid minimum wage and limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Students MUST document hours as outlined in the Student Worker Handbook in accordance to hours worked, days worked, breaks etc.

Job Description

  1. Maintain nursery container stock on a weekly basis.
  2. Water, weed, prune, stake, transplant, propagate, resize and shift container stock as needed.
  3. Propagate new container stock by seeds, cuttings or division as directed by instructor.
  4. Maintain soil and potting mixes as needed.
  5. Maintain pathways.
  6. Inventory and maintain OH Tool shed by providing maintenance of hand tools, service of power tools and general cleaning and storage of materials. Coordinate repair and service of power and hand tools with instructor.

Evaluation Procedure

Student unit managers will be evaluated on a monthly basis or as needed by the agriculture staff unit manager. Poor ratings of work performance may be grounds for the dismissal of the student worker.
