2001-2002 Academic Year.

Compensation

Students will be paid minimum wage and limited to no more than 19 hours per week. Students MUST document hours as outlined in the Student Worker Handbook in accordance to hours worked, days worked, breaks etc.

Job Description

  1. Work with the agriculture staff unit manager to define unit responsibilities, work hours, duties and evaluation procedure.
  2. 2. Maintain lawn by mowing, fertilizing, weeding and edging on a weekly basis or as needed.
  3. Spray weeds around fruit trees and maintain drip irrigation system and sprinkler systems.
  4. Weed landscaping in and around waterfall/pond, maintain waterfall filter and pump system. Replace dead or damaged plants.
  5. Maintain grape arbor by weeding, tying vines and cleaning spider webs as needed. Maintain pathway inside of arbor.
  6. Maintain the COS Ag Center Barn by cleaning tables, removing spider webs, removing any trash, and cleaning pigeon droppings etc.

Evaluation Procedure

Student unit managers will be evaluated on a monthly basis or as needed by the agriculture staff unit manager. Poor ratings of work performance may be grounds for the dismissal of the student worker.
