COS Agriculture Education Club

The COS Agriculture Education Club is the newest club at the COS Ag Farm. The Ag Education Club is dedicated to educating valley elementary school children about the importance of agriculture in their communities as well as the world. The club achieves this by visiting the children in their classrooms. Presentations about different areas of agriculture are made in the classrooms, and hands on activities are used to get the children involved in the presentation.

Most of the students who are members of the Agriculture Education Club are Agriculture Education majors interested in teaching agriculture on a secondary level. The club allows the COS students to get involved in a classroom environment. The club is not limited to Ag Education majors, anyone who is interested in promoting the importance of agriculture is welcome.

In addition to our classroom visits, Agriculture Education Club members are involved in many different areas at the COS Ag Farm. The "Kiss the Pig" contest, pictured above, was the club's first fundraiser. The advisor, Mr. Frank Tebeau, as you can see, was the official winner. Club members will also be working at the Dairy Club Ice cream booth at the World Ag Expo.
